Seattle Day one 7/7/18 Part one

18 years ago, My mom, sister and niece went to Seattle to visit my mom's aunt and uncle.  I was big time in genealogy and My great aunt and uncle knew a lot of family history including identifying many pictures that we had.
Over Easter, my mom was talking to my niece Cassie and express a desire to go back to Seattle again.  Cassie told my sister Cindy and a trip to Seattle was born.
Cassie is now mid 20 year old instead of  8 year old little girl and the other 3 are 18 years older.
Cindy decided to book the flights and for some reason we were booked for a 10:30 PM flight and arriving in Seattle around 1:30 in the morning.
We got to the airport a couple hours before the flight was due to leave.  We were TSA pre check and went thru pretty quick.  My mom is using a walker and I am not if that targeted her,
but they made her go over with the TSA and check for bomb residue.  She passsed with no issues.

My mom loves Flamingos.  I think she is rocking these sunglasses.
A store at the airport that had lots and lots of Flamingos

About 15 minutes or so before we were due to board, they made announcement that the flight will be delayed.  They were getting a new plane from the hanger and we would be moving to the next gate over.  With my mom having a walker, we decided to wait and be the last ones on.  We get up to the ticket counter, Cassie went thru and a nice Delta worker stopped my mom and asked her if she wanted to upgrade and was able to get the 4 of us to move 4 rows up to the comfort row.  This row had a lot more room and we were 2 rows behind first class.  We got extra snacks.  Seats were great and I could completely stretch my legs out.  Each seat had a TV and could pick out movies and activities.

Flying into Seattle.  The pilot announce that due to leaving late in MPLS, he flew faster and we would be arriving early in Seattle.  It was a smooth flight and he landed the plane very smooth and about 15 minutes earlier.
We arrived in Seattle around 12:30 in the morning, got our car an headed to our condo in Renton.  The condo is very nice.  We don't have a view other then another condo complex.

Friday morning, Cindy and I headed to the store brought a bunch of food and Cindy cooked breakfast (she loves cooking which works for me).  Cassie and I supervised.
Getting ready to eat breakfast.  The condo owner is a pilot and engineer and based on some books he has around the place Cassie feels he is good nerd too.
Mom all set to hit Pike Market
Driving into downtown seattle, The picture is showing three levels of roads.
Our first stop.  Cindy and Mom are hoping to visit a bunch of quilt shop.  They saw 2.  This one was nice, and I dreamed about when the day I would start making quilts again.
Our first stop was Pike Market.  Perfect day out for it.  It was busy but not overly crowded
The Original Starbucks.  We were hoping to get a picture and go in there, there was a huge line for people waiting to get in there.  The video below shows it.

Amazed on all the fruit and fish (and how big they are) that the market has to offer.
It appears to be endless, we thought we were getting to the end, took a slight turn and there was a another whole section.
 Cassie being the selfie queen.

Worker getting ready to throw the fish
He threw it behind that case to were there were workers packing up.
They yell something when they throw it.  Usually they throw what someone is purchasing,
but also will throw one to entertain the crowd

At the end of the market, we came up to the Post Alley.  This Alley is also called the Gum Ally and is label on maps.  It is really cool at the same time really gross.  You can small the flavor of the gum.
