This past weekend
Monika and Katie's gym
hosted the
2nd Qualifier for State.
There was a lot of prep work involved
We have such a great group of gymnasts and parents
and things went very smoothly before, during and after the meet.
I pretty much lived there this weekend.
I was restricted on a lot of things due to ankle injury,
but still was able to help out.
Katie competed Saturday afternoon
Katie and her teammate CeCe. They have been together on the team for two years now.
This was their 3rd meet this year.
The first two meets they got the exact same score on the bars
9.0 and 9.1.
They named themselves "Bar twins".
Unfortunately CeCe struggled this time on the bars and they didn't get the same score.
Katie improved her score again and got 9.15.
She was very excited.

2 girls aren't competing
due to injuries.
Katie was 5th place on bars
in her age group. Her teammate was 1st.

with an 9.0
Katie was 8th place all around
Roseville didn't get a trophy, they were
3rd place out of 4 teams.
They improved their team score
and Katie improved her individual score.
3 more girls made it to state.

At the beginning of this competition meet, Katie said her goal was to get at least one 9 in each event. I told her that was a very high goal and maybe to make the goal to get at least one 9 this season.
She has proven me wrong and is half way there in achieving her goal with 6 more meets.

Monika had the honors of being a score flasher for
two of the meets. She was on the vault both times.
The first time, her teammate got to help. The second
time Monika did it by herself.

If you are taking a picture of your child with another child or two on the team, any of the other teammates see that, they jump in the picture.
It is great to see such friendships with these girls, and girls in other levels too.

but a good meet.
She was 8th on Bars in her age group

They placed 3rd out of 10 teams

She was on clean up crew with me at the gym.
It was a great weekend, and a fun host meet. I enjoy doing the host meet and we got a lot of nice compliments from people who came to our gym.
