Jenny's big day is finally here

Jenny has waited for two years for this day.

She watched her sister go thru her

surgeries and kept praying for her day to get her.

She had certain things she had to do.

Grow taller and the circumference around her chest

had to be a certain measurement..

This summer she had growth spurt,

including passing her big sister

Monika in height.

 Up and at the hospital by 5:30

She doesn't look one bit tired

 Doctor drawing what he was going to do.

She had 3 ribs removed and

carved into her ear

 By the time we got to the recovery room,

Jenny was awake and eating popsicles,

She was bummed that the sluggies machine was broken.

 

 

 Both doctors (the rib removal and ear)

said they were very happy with the surgeries.

 She has 3 drains in (Katie only had 2).

 Finally up in her room, happy with the remote control

and all the buttons.  She was also happy

because she could finally eat and picked

Mac and Cheese and a lot of apple juice.

 Grandma Jackie and her sisters came to visit her

they each got a balloon for her

Grandma also got the tan bear and a warm blanket and book to go along with it.

Pink Owl is a lavender warm pack

After having a small emesis from

moving around a lot,

she dosed off.

 

Normally kids with this surgery and drains stay in the hospital until the drains are removed which is 5 days.  Katie's surgery her doctor felt ok after 2 days to let her go home because of me knowing how to take care of the wounds and drains.

This time he saying Jenny might be able to go home tomorrow if no complications.

I think Jenny is torn with that idea as she is enjoying all the gadgets and buttons to play with.

 

Heavenly Father, thank you so much for keep Jenny safe during this 9 hour surgery and thank you for providing the surgery team with wisdom and steady hands to have an successful surgery.  Continue to keep Jenny on the healing mend without an complications.
