Monika at her science project

Monika's 4th grade teacher mandated them to due a science project.  Monika had mixed feeling on doing this.  She decided to do the experiment of which shines the penny the best.  She used root beer, coke, sprite and lemonade.  She did enjoy doing the experiment itself.  Her school had a big science fair and she didn't want to participate in it as it wasn't mandatory.  She instead wanted to go to gymnastic practice.  Thursday when she arrived home and was getting ready for gymnastics she told me that she changed her mind and wanted to do the science fair because one of her friends were going there (who wasn't in the fair).  I explained to her that she wouldn't be able to run around with her, that she needed to stay with her board most of the time because people will have questions and there were going to be judges.  We decided that we would go for the last hour seeing it was 2 hours long.    She was judged and will find out if she won.  There was some really cool ones there, there were a lot of mento/pop explosion ones.  She had a judge ask her a lot of questions and she answered them good.
Monika enjoys talking, but when it includes being put on the spot she freezes except for gymnastics, she isn't afraid to show her skills when asked.  Having to explain things make her nervous in front of people.  She waited until the last night to put the board together, she did a great job typing it, ran into a problem with the procedure that she couldn't get the right wording, mom also couldn't get it, so she called her dad and he surprised her and came over, she was talking to him and he walked into the house.  It made her feel really good and between the two of them after many attempts were able to get the wording that Monika was searching for.
