please keep JJ in your prayers

This pictures was taken on Erin's adoption day, September 6, 2010.  This girl "JJ" (short nickname) is deaf and resides at Erin orphanage.  Erin told us when we met her she was very nice and help "protect" Erin when she was the orphanage.  Originally we were told by Erin that she was older then Erin by a couple of years.  Since Erin has come home, she would on and off talk about her and she has this picture that she keeps under her pillow.  Last Saturday while she was over at her dad's house, she and her dad were able to get "QQ" going which is like facebook.  Erin was very excited and talked to some of her old badminton peers.  She then noticed that her teacher (the orphanage director) was on line and talked to her for a few minutes before asking about JJ.  Her teacher was kind enough to go find JJ so that Erin and her could talk.  Erin said that she was a little slow in remember Chinese sign language, but that it came back to her as she was talking to JJ.  She told JJ about America and her family.  Erin was telling me that she told JJ it was a hard change and that when she first got here, she didn't like it at all, but now does.  She was telling JJ about some of the "rules" and how school is and what it is like.  JJ really wants to come to America and Erin wants her to come.  Since last Saturday, Erin has approached me every day and come up with a way to get JJ to come to America.  I have explained to Erin that someone has to pay her way here and once she gets her, pay for her things.  She has aged out in China.  Erin has bargain with me, she has all these great ideas on how JJ and her can live her and how she will help JJ learn English and so forth.  Erin gets heartbroken each time I tell her that I can't afford to pay JJ's way and that she needs to know English and understand it if she wants to work.  Erin is determine and stubborn, she wants JJ here.  You can see the desperation in her eyes, the fear as she now knows what she has here compare to China and she wants her dear friend to experience that.  She, I feel has learned that in China she couldn't relax, or rely on people and always had to be on the look out for yourself, that you do what you needed to do to survive.  Now that she is America and learned about family, safety, protection, love, ect.  It is hard knowing that I met this precious child and know that she is an orphan without a family.  She could get kicked out of the orphanage any day.  I am so grateful that Erin's teacher is caring for her at the orphanage and hope they can keep there for as long as possible.
