March 31, 2003, I was at work and Dave was home getting ready for work, when he got the phone call around 9:30 AM from our social worker saying we have a daughter. Dave then called me at work to tell me we had an 8 month old daughter. I cried. We had started trying to have bio children and adopting children since 1995, finally after 8 years, we had a daughter. We couldn't make it to our agency until later that afternoon. There we met 2 of our travel mates. We next went to Dave's parent's house first. My parents lived out of town, so they had to see their first glimpse of Monika thru email. At the time, SARS was really starting to become a crisis. But for the time being, we just enjoyed the fact we had a daughter and started to plan (we had chosen not to do any preparing of the baby room and so forth because of past failed adoptions.)
Hard to believe how fast those 6 years have gone by, I can still remember holding her in my arms and giving her a bottle and now she is an very energtic girls
