Happy Father's day

Today we had both sides of the family over. It was just a perfect weather day too. We were able to sit outside and eat and visit and enjoy the weather. We even had a guest too. This guest is someone we met through Church about 6 months ago. We only talk momentarily after church a hand full of times.. She is a young women that been in the US for 18 months, she found out she was pregnant before she left her home country, so she has been receiving some help thru our church. Anyways, I knew that she didn't have a lot of contact with people, so after church we asked if she and her 13 month old son wanted to join us. She did. We really enjoyed having them here and I think she enjoyed herself to. She was so smiley and her little one is adorable. God once again unexpectedly presents us with a seed to open our hearts and home to someone that could use a little bit of a friend/family. She lives close so we hope she will become a special friend of our family.
Back to Father's day. Both of our dads are still alive and fairly active at 82 and 75 years old. We are so grateful that we can still spend time with them and oh do the grandkids big and small adore their grandpas. Dave is a wonderful dad to his 4 daughters, he enjoys doing things with them, teaching them things, challenging them to be the best they can be, encouraging them, is creative and a smart daddy too. he also has the nook in the arm for a daughter to curl up to on the couch or chair. They feel he is the strongest person in the world.
Update on the garage sale: We had wonderful weather and were lucky that the bad storms didn't hit us (pray for the families that lost their love ones on Thursday night tornadoes), we had so much stuff donated to us and had more then we had in the two sales last year. It was a little disheartening to not make as much money this time around as we did last year, but still we are now 965 dollars closer with the fees and we thank God and everyone that participated in the garage sale whether it was by donations, shopping, helping setting up, prayers and encouragement, spreading the word it means a lot to us. Jade worked so hard with all of it and she was a great 'Motherly" person for me. My mom was unable to help due to her knee not doing well. My mother in law came and helped out as much as she could with setting up and so forth but had many things to do at home so she didn't stay, Dave had to work on Thursday, so that pretty much left Jade and I. I wasn't in the mood to eat or drink much and she would ask if I would want anything and it didn't matter if I said yes or no, she always went in and brought some out or extra stuff out. The leftover stuff, some of it going to my in law's house as they are having a garage sale next month (I will get to keep the profits of our stuff that we bring over, so that will also go in Erin's funds), some things are going to the consignment shops which will be able to be put towards her funds and some things will go to good will.
We also got a little bit closer to Erin on Saturday. We received in the mail our receipt from our I 800. My understanding is that this receipt lately has been coming 10-14 days after they receive it and we got ours in 8 days. Now we are to wait around 2 weeks for the approval, so we still have our hopes to travel in mid August. Hard to believe in 2 months we could be finally meeting our daughter. We still don't have nearly all the funds but we trust God that he will help guide us to Erin and that he will make sure we become a family, we have had challenges with money for Erin, but with all the wonderful support and encouragement we have been slowly breaking down those challenges and at the end it will be priceless as we will have a daughter and our daughter will have a mom, dad, big and little sisters, extended family and so forth.
