This afternoon we went to a "celebration of Life" for a amazing man name Rob. I first met Rob and his wife (they weren't married then) at camp called Courage North, which is a camp for deaf and hard of hearing over 20 years ago. Unfortnautely he was diagonsis with cancer last summer and now is terminal. It is amazing how people can have such an impact on life. Rob made a speech and said "Live life to the fullest" and not he wasn't saying good bye but "see you later". That he would see us in Heaven.
We don't always understand why people get sick, die or anything else, we just believe in God and remember he has it under control.
Thank you Rob and Jane for making that one unforgettable summer over 20 years ago.
So sorry to hear about your friend. I think it's a wonderful idea to celebrate someone's life before they pass on.
