A wonderful newspaper article about adoption
A friend of ours was feature on the front page of the Pioneer Press St. Paul paper on Sunday regarding their adoption of their daughter. Their daughter was a waiting child. The link for it is here. There has been many times people have asked us why we are adopting a teenager and that we are crazy or they give us a lot of credit and so forth. We are adopting Erin because we fell in love with her, we have love to give to her, we feel she is perfect for our family. God works in wonderful ways, The night we first saw Erin (June 6, 2009) we weren't even talking adoption other then the fact that maybe in 5 years we would be ready ( I was ready, but Dave wasn't sure and financially we weren't), to us going to bring her home this summer/fall. There is a lot of emotions with this, but with all the support, and with Jesus walking with us, we know it will be alright, sure we will have a lot of ups and downs, we as a family and individual will struggle, but most important we will have Erin and Erin will have us. She will be shown what love is and what family is and so much more and we will all learn from her to. So are we crazy? no, are we insane? no, we are just two people that want another child and Erin crawled into our hearts and soul and she now is our daughter.

ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of waiting in an adoption- but you sure had more than is necessary- ugh!
You are doing such a good job keeping your spirits up!
Dropped by to see what's up. So glad you are moving forward to add Erin to your family. Waiting stinks! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Verna...waiting stinks! I can't wait to read that you are finally united with Erin!
