Happy 8 years of being with us Monika

May 25th, 2011 was 8 years since Monika joined our family.  Please go to this post  This post is from last year on Monika's 7 year gotcha day (being lazy and not writing all about it again.).  May 25th is also my Dad's birthday, he turned 76 years old, my brother in law Pat and my good friend Jean, who( when I wrote last year)was waiting to bring home 2 girls, and has since brought those two home, another girl and boy and waiting to bring home another child.  She is a remarkable person and and friend.
This picture was taken last night as I had planned to blog on her actual gotcha day, but sleep instead got a hold of me.
It amazes me that it seems forever in the past since Monika joined our family and yet it seems like yesterday that she came to us.  It has been an amazing journey and to live in her eyes on how she views the world and seeing that sensitive side and how she is able to predict things and is my warning sign for my thunderclap headaches (she knows when one is coming on before I do).  She is a social butterfly and yet she loves the one on one with people.  She is very active and loves Gymnastic but yet doesn't always want to go because she wants to be with her family and she afraid she will miss out on something.  She is academically gifted (she doesn't know that) and yet she loves to teach others and enjoys things that are simple too.  She is the most affectionate child I have and at times to much affectionate.  I hope as she continues to grow, she will keep these traits and will continue to want to be with the family as much as possible.  She is our first born child, even though she is in the middle of the 5 daughters.  She is also the youngest one we got as she was 4 days shy of 10 months.   So happy 8 years Monika-the roller coaster girl.
